		<description>By the way, if you want to go the &quot;easy&quot; way of fixing the kernel, in Ubuntu Server 8.10 CD you should do first  &quot;Rescue a broken system&quot;, then you have to detect hardware (after this step, the rescue mode menu will grow with many options), then detect network interface, then detect hard drives, and only then it will allow you to execute &quot;sudo apt-get install linux-386&quot; etc.

If all is well after running the commands, reboot, and while Grub is loading hit &quot;Esc&quot;, select a new kernel.</description>
