Sad and disturbing

There is something very sad and depressing about the story of Walter Wolfgang’s ejection from this week’s Labour Party Conference.

As someone who holds dual British/other nationality I find it a sad indictment of Britian Today that the ruling party finds it necessary to physically eject a man aged 82 years old who fled to Britain in 1937 to escape tyrannical Nazi rule from their annual party conference for daring to heckle the Foreign Secretary with the word “nonsense” during his defense of Britain’s indefensible occupation of Iraq.

Yes, ’tis but nothing compared to the USA’s complete demolition of their own constitution, but I always nurtured the (naive) belief that the British were slightly above this sort of thing.
